Chapter 356 - 355: Why Can’t We Make Our Relationship Public?
Ms. Flynn seemed to make a lot of sense.
Damian can be really domineering sometimes; he might just slam the breach penalty fee right at Ms. Flynn’s office door.
Bella just thought about that scene and felt so awkward that she quickly grabbed the pen and signed beneath the contract.
"Ms. Flynn, it’s signed."
Bella handed the contract back, and Elaine Vaughn glanced at it before stamping it.
"Alright, I’ll arrange for a car to take you back to the filming set."
"Ms. Flynn, there’s no need for that. Piggy and I can just take the bus."
"How can that be? You’re the newbie our studio is promoting heavily; if a reporter snaps a photo of you taking a bus, how will our studio get by in the future?" Elaine Vaughn laughed and said, "Come on, we don’t need a special driver. Jewel can drive."
Since she insisted, Bella of course graciously accepted.
The two of them left the office together, and Piggy was already waiting in the hallway with their things packed.
Elaine Vaughn patted Bella and smiled, "Off you go. I won’t see you out."
"Goodbye, Ms. Flynn." Bella waved her hand in farewell.
Elaine Vaughn laughed and said, "Jewel, I’m leaving Bella in your care. You have to take good care of her for me."
"Don’t worry, Mr. Flynn. I’ll do my very best."
"Alright, off you go."
After saying farewell to Elaine Vaughn, Bella and Piggy left the studio and drove to the filming base.
Piggy drove while Bella sat in the back seat, and her phone buzzed in her pocket.
Bella took out her phone, glanced at the caller ID, and a smile crept up the corner of her mouth.
"Hello."
Damian’s voice came from the other end, "How did the work talk go?"
"Really well." Bella deliberately didn’t go into details, asking, "Are you at the office?"
"Yeah." Damian closed the laptop in front of him, "Bella, are you hiding something from me?"
"Am I? No, not at all."
"The more you confess, the better; the more you resist, the worse. You’re better off coming clean." Damian dialed the intercom on his desk and ordered, "Get me a coffee."
"Okay, President Sinclair."
After hanging up the intercom, Damian continued, "Every time you’re lying, you like to use an innocent tone. So, what’s the deal?"
Damian always seemed to understand her, yet she didn’t understand him at all, which felt unfair.
Bella pursed her lips and said, "Ms. Young said we can’t make our relationship public. Oh right, Ms. Young is the agent Ms. Flynn hired for me. She’s really impressive. After chatting with her for a while, I felt I learned a lot."
"You could learn a lot from chatting with anyone for a while." Damian clearly wasn’t buying it, "Why can’t we go public? Is there something sketchy about my identity?"
"No way, don’t jump to conclusions." Bella explained, "Ms. Young said it’s better for my career development."
"Nonsense. Could I be obstructing your career?" Damian slightly lowered his voice, "If I wanted to hinder your career, you wouldn’t even have the chance to audition."
"Don’t be mad, okay? I’m just discussing this with you." Bella lowered her voice and said, "Actually, I’m quite eager to go public. That way, when the media talks about you, it’ll be because of me; that feels really awesome."
In the past, even the few who knew about her relationship with Damian always referred to her by saying Damian was her something, never because of who she was, that she was something to Damian.
The thought of the media mentioning Damian because of her in the future made her feel proud.
