Chapter 405: Greeting
Chapter 405: Greeting
Jesse Jennings?
Thea Shaw returned to the Weibo page to search for information about Jesse Jennings.
Jesse Jennings is Regina Shelby’s agent, usually by her side, and there are indeed photos on Weibo.
The moment Thea saw the photos, she immediately deduced some information.
If Regina Shelby truly spoke about her fortune-telling, it must have been to someone she trusts the most.
And now that she’s been targeted, the leak came from that person!
Regardless of whether Regina Shelby is dead or not, this is a conspiracy against her.
Thea squinted as Marcus Lynch’s cautious voice came through the phone: "Master, may I ask what happened? Regina Shelby had just seen you a few days ago..."
It’s just because she came to Thea for fortune-telling and then died suddenly; could it be Thea knows something?
"She did come to me."
Thea chuckled: "It’s quite interesting."
She was just quietly making a little money by fortune-telling, never expecting anyone to target her for it.
Sure enough, the jealousy within the industry is truly frightening; when their readings aren’t as accurate, they start causing trouble.
Marcus Lynch nervously listened to Thea’s words before she hung up the phone.
He looked at the myriad of events frequently posted on Weibo over the past two days, faintly sensing an impending storm.
He felt these current events are just the beginning.
-
The news of Thea being sought out by the police couldn’t be hidden from the Sutton Family and Landon Ford.
Mr. Sutton was the first to hear about it, having just stepped out early in the morning when he was informed by a servant that it involved a murder case, prompting him to hastily return before even settling at the office.
Returning to find Thea leisurely sitting on the sofa, calmly grooming her nails.
Despite feeling uneasy inside, seeing Thea so composed made Mr. Sutton heave a sigh of relief: "What happened?"
He furrowed his brow, unable to associate Thea with a murder case.
"Nothing major."
Thea didn’t want the family to worry too much: "A client of mine is in trouble. I just read her fortune a few days ago, and the police came to me because of this."
Mr. Sutton was puzzled by this response and sat down: "That must be Regina Shelby, right?"
Mr. Sutton knew her too; a national celebrity, the incident had stirred their circle early this morning.
Mr. Sutton was aware of her, but not of her connection with Thea.
"So, didn’t you foresee this when you read her fortune a few days ago?"
Thea’s predictions have always been accurate; thus, Mr. Sutton couldn’t understand this turn of events.
Thea had nothing to hide from Mr. Sutton: "She’s not dead, but missing. I suspect her company can’t find her and can’t afford to pay breach penalties, so they made it seem like she’s dead to smooth things over."
Of course, she didn’t mention that someone intentionally targeted her in this matter.
Mr. Sutton appeared to believe this explanation more, though he still frowned: "Since she isn’t dead, the investigation should only be procedural and unrelated to you."
Thea shrugged: "Exactly, without evidence or motive, it has nothing to do with me."
Mr. Sutton was still slightly worried but couldn’t neglect business. The Vanguard Group’s issues had caused some ripples across Aethelgard’s business scene, keeping everyone busy. He assigned someone to investigate Regina Shelby’s case and quickly returned to the company.
Soon after Mr. Sutton left, Landon Ford’s timely inquiry arrived.
