Chapter 691: A Dark Shadow.

While he was checking the sky for any large hands reaching down to the earth, he put the Rewind Metac at the ready. He wanted to be able to leave at any moment’s notice, so he had the Rewind Metac at the ready.

The mere sight of any large hand would make him activate the Rewind Metac. The large hand doesn’t even need to be reaching down for him before he will decide to run away.

It was after he was sure that he was truly safe that he proceeded with his plan. Like the previous timeline, the first thing he did was to go and assimilate small worlds.

Every time he plundered a world, he always enjoyed it. He didn’t enjoy the killing and the destruction because he liked to see people suffer. He only enjoyed it because it made him stronger.

The opportunity to grow stronger is something that he cherishes. And witnessing a world getting plundered also helped remind him of how far he had come and what he was struggling to prevent from happening to him.

However, there was no feeling of enjoyment when he assimilated worlds this time around. His mood was gloomy, and the act of plundering worlds only seemed to make him feel worse.

The root of his bad mood was still the nearly successful attempt on his life that had happened recently. He felt that the reason for the attempted murder should be very important. But since he didn’t know what that reason was, his imagination was getting the best of him and coming up with the worst possible reasons.

No matter how he tackled the mental problem, he always came back to the conclusion that Dao Lords didn’t want him or anyone to reach a certain level of strength. If this is true, it would mean that Dao Lords aren’t just great beings that he hopes to be stronger than in the future. It would mean that Dao Lords are his active enemies.

This possibility cast a dark shadow on his heart and made him view everything around him that usually increases his strength as a source of possible danger to his person.

It also means that he doesn’t need to offend any Dao Lord for them to attack him. This means that he could be attacked at any time once he reaches the limit of power.

The possibility that Dao Lords could be watching him now, waiting to attack him, was also making him jittery and paranoid. All in all, he couldn’t enjoy what he usually loved doing.

With everything going on in his head, he could only go through the motions. Even when he forced the two divine beings of the Thorn House of Commerce to back down and make a deal with him, he didn’t enjoy the experience much.

And when he began his return to the Blessed Heaven World to continue his plan, he was looking forward to it. His mind was full of too much uncertainty and fear of the unknown.

When he got to the Blessed Heaven World, he still baited Gold Body, though. His fear didn’t mean he wouldn’t try to do what he needed to do to get stronger.

After Gold Body died and he became the new Gold Body, he did the same thing and ran away like a rat. His behavior caused six divine beings to pursue him.

On his way out of the Blessed Heaven World, he chuckled and said to himself, ’It may be dangerous, but I would rather die than not try to get stronger. As long as there is hope, I would keep trying.’

’So the Dao Lord was right to kill me straightaway instead of telling me to give up on the Divine Positions. After all, if I had been asked to give up the power, I would only have done so temporarily. I would still try to get powerful with another method.’

This thought made him laugh.

He wanted to laugh out loud so that everyone would hear. But he remembered that he was on a hunt, and he couldn’t make any noise that would spook the prey. So his laughter was subdued, and his amusement was kept to himself.

He believed that he was on a hunt, and so did his pursuers. Both sides thought that they were the predator. After ten minutes, the identity of the real predator was quickly revealed.

A few weeks after the chase of the new Monarch Gold Body, the six money cultivators who chased him were nowhere to be found. But the new Monarch Gold Body himself returned to the Blessed Heaven World, and he began calling down Divine Positions into his Cave Heaven.

Just like the previous timeline, no one came to interrupt Loki. However, he only called down three Divine Positions this time around. He left the other three Divine Positions for fear of being swathed like a bug for being greedy.

So now he has four Divine Positions of the Money Pathway. These four were for the Gold Body Metac, the Money Construct, the Life’s Worth Metac, and the Wealth Status Metac. These four Divine Metacs mobilize the power of the Body, Will, Mind, and Soul, respectively.

Of all four of them, the Wealth Status Metac is the only one he can use completely without having to spend divine merit points. The other three require divine merit points for their full usage.

He would have also liked to get the Divine Position for the Money Appraisal Metac, which mobilizes the Insight Stat. That way, he would be able to mobilize all of his stats with his Divine Positions. Unfortunately for him, four Divine Positions is the limit of the number of Divine Positions that he can safely have.

However, he didn’t dwell on this limit for long because he didn’t need Divine Positions to use his Divine Metacs. As long as a Divine Metac is in his possession, he can always use it through Fenrir.

Because of Fenrir, he didn’t feel like he was being handicapped by the limit. What he was worried about was whether four Divine Metacs would be considered too much for a rank 6 divine being to have.
