Chapter 630: Above Perfection, The Unknown (2)
Ash decided to push those thoughts aside for now.
There would be time to think about whether the novel needed more Chapters or not. Right now, his focus needed to remain on the evolution currently unfolding within him.
"Well," he said, turning away from the boards, "let’s just leave this place as is for now."
Nia and Elysia both nodded.
They could feel something shifting inside Ash—something deep and fundamental was changing. Naturally, that meant the same was happening within them, just not to the same degree.
Still, neither of them wanted to interrupt it.
"Let’s go," Elysia said softly.
Nia nodded, though her black eyes carried a trace of excitement.
"I want to see what you look like when you come out of this."
With that, the three of them turned and stepped out of the Author’s white void.
They reappeared in the vast space between universes within Pantheos. The familiar sight of distant glowing realms and floating stars stretched out around them.
However, Ash was no longer standing with them.
A large cocoon now floated in the void where he had been.
It was unlike anything they had seen before — a shifting mass of multicolored and colorless light twisting and folding in on itself.
At times it looked solid, while at other moments it seemed almost transparent, as if it existed between states of reality.
Strange patterns and symbols occasionally flashed across its surface before disappearing just as quickly.
Nia and Elysia floated a short distance away, watching intently.
Nia crossed her arms, her black eyes locked onto the cocoon.
"...I guess he proved us wrong, huh?," she muttered, though there was clear anticipation in her voice.
Elysia smiled faintly, her golden hair drifting around her as she observed the shifting lights.
"Well, it’s not like either one of us doubted it" she said. "But... just what will become of ascending beyond perfection?"
The cocoon pulsed once, sending out a ripple of multicolored and colorless energy that briefly distorted the space around it.
Inside, Ash’s presence continued to grow stronger, as if something long dormant was finally being reshaped into its true form.
It was Elysia’s plan from the start to go ahead and combine the essences to further optimize himself.
However, she didn’t tell him with the intentions that they would exceed the thresholds of what Perfection was.
Because what was perfection?
Well, for the Unus in specific, they were literal masters and the peak of anything one could ever think of.
Whether it battling, their beauty, the harmony within them, or even minial things such as cooking. They truly left no room for improvement, to the point that whenever they evolved nothing else was upgraded...
They had simply gained something entirely new.
And, more often than not, what they gained was something they could have achieved in one way or another already.
For instance, each of the wives and other companions possessed True Forms—shapes beyond the most abstract visions imaginable.
But lately, what reason did they have to use such things?
This was all to say, the Unus and the Ineffable Pantheon were already truly perfect, with no real room for improvement.
However, that was only because Pantheos itself—or Ash, specifically—had yet to step beyond the very framework of perfection.
But just what was above the very notion of perfection?
HUMMMMMM!!!!!
In moments, Ash’s evolution reached its peak.
The multicolored and colorless cocoon began to fracture.
Thin, glowing cracks spread across its surface like veins of light and shadow, pulsing in an irregular rhythm. A
low, resonant hum filled the void between universes, growing steadily louder until it became a deep, vibrating pressure that pressed against Nia and Elysia’s skin.
CRACKKKK!!!!!!
Then.... the cocoon shattered.
Shards of multicolored and colorless energy exploded outward before dissolving into the void.
From within the broken shell, Ash slowly unfolded from a fetal position, his body stretching out as he floated upright.
At first glance, nothing about his appearance had changed.
His long black and red hair still flowed behind him. His skin, his build, his facial features — they were all exactly the same.
Yet something fundamental had shifted.
The air around him no longer felt stable.
It was as if the very notion of "perfection" had been peeled away from reality in his presence.
There was no longer any sense of a peak or a limit.
Instead, there was only an overwhelming, absolute freedom — a state where the idea of "flaw" or "flawless" had become meaningless.
He simply existed beyond those definitions.
Nia’s black eyes widened.
She instinctively took half a step back, not out of fear, but because the pressure coming from Ash had become something she could no longer fully grasp.
Her lips parted slightly as she stared at him.
"...Ashy?" she muttered, her voice quieter than usual.
She could feel it — this wasn’t just another evolution.
This was something that stood above every state of being they had always known.
Even her obsessive attachment to him felt strangely heightened, as if his existence had become even more absolute in her eyes.
Elysia’s golden eyes were fixed on him, her usual calm expression replaced by genuine surprise.
She could sense the shift on a much deeper level.
The balance she had always felt from Ash — that perfect harmony he carried — was gone.
One must not forget, Ash didn’t always begin as a being in perfect harmony.
In fact, if you remember, what stood out most about him at first wasn’t just his powers of lust, but that he was a living, breathing paradox.
And now, deep within him, where harmony once grown, there was something far more terrifying and beautiful.
He had truly moved beyond perfection.
It was as if he had become the embodiment of endless possibility itself — not through reaching a peak, but by discarding the very notion of one.
Elysia’s voice came out soft.
"...I can’t say that I’m not impressed," she said. "Truly... worthy of being my Master~"
Nia slowly regained her composure, though her gaze remained locked onto Ash with intense focus. A small, dangerous smile began to form on her lips.
"You feel... different," she said, her tone carrying both fascination and hunger.
"Like there’s nothing holding you back anymore."
Ash drifted in the void, his eyes slowly opening to meet the gaze of the two women.
There was the same calmness to him, but it carried a new and undeniable weight, something deeper and far more profound than before.
He was no longer simply the peak of what any being could aspire to be.
He had transformed into something that existed completely beyond that measure, a presence untethered from any scale or comparison.
The state of Divine Absolute Imperfection.
