Chapter 335: Back to Divine Academy, Asking The Chairman
Chapter 335: Back to Divine Academy, Asking The Chairman
Leon was level eighty three, Celeste was level eighty one and Emilia was level seventy eight, meaning that they were each leveled enough to move on to harder content without too much trouble.
"Celeste managed to kill all those ogres with her [Darkness Ember] back in the realm, so her level skyrocketed from all the experience," Leon spoke, "But it is fine, the monsters here in this domain should be much easier for all of us to handle."
Leon also needed to find the [Time Tower] in this domain, and quickly, if he wanted to finally hatch his [Primordial Dragon of Chaos] egg that had been sitting in his inventory for so long.
[Divine Answer] had said that the tower was located somewhere within [Higher Domain #1], though actually trying to find it would be the hard part of that quest.
Except if, maybe, there was another way...
"Wait a minute," Leon turned to look at the [Divine Academy] in the distance, the massive building radiating a powerful aura that he could feel even from here, "There may be something I can do there that will help me with finding what I need."
"Oh?" Celeste titled her head, looking around nervously at the familiar surroundings, "It is fine then, I guess..."
Leon noticed her weird behavior at that moment and simply shook his head, laughing aloud at how obvious she was being.
"If you are worried about the [Imperial Guild] and those idiots who bothered us before, you could probably one-shot all of them at your current level without breaking a sweat."
Hearing that, Celeste’s ears turned bright red with embarrassment, because she had not expected Leon to actually figure out what was bothering her so easily.
The fact that he knew her so well and could read her thoughts made her... genuinely happy inside.
"And even if they try anything stupid, I will send them flying myself," Leon grinned confidently, "Let us just go quickly to the academy, check what we need to check, and then we can continue our journey."
"Alright," Celeste beamed with a bright smile.
Leon, Celeste and Emilia headed to the massive square where the [Divine Academy] was located, and they walked forward through the crowd of students and natives going about their daily business.
Leon noticed that there was an elf teacher standing near the entrance talking to a bunch of students who seemed eager to ask him questions, so he quickly approached them without any hesitation.
"Hello, I want to speak to Dominik if he is currently available," Leon said directly, not bothering with small talk or pleasantries.
Leon did not let any kind of aggression appear in his voice at all, because he knew that these high level natives would sense his killing intent immediately if he showed even a hint of it.
Instead, the elf-raced teacher turned his gaze toward Leon with an almost disgusted expression on his face, before quickly switching to a warm and welcoming one.
"Oh, you seem to be hte students from the recent examination but..." he turned to look at Emilia standing behind Leon, "Your companion over there is not a student here, is she?"
"She will not enter the building, its fine," Leon replied neutrally, keeping his voice steady, "I will be quick."
"If I recall correctly from the records," the elf teacher gazed at Leon directly with piercing eyes, "Dominik did tell me that you could talk to him if you wanted to, Celestial."
Hearing his ID being spoken out loud like that, a bead of sweat appeared on Leon’s forehead.
It meant that the teachers and chairman knew about him, and especially that they could recognize him from his appearance alone.
But he quickly recovered from that momentary shock and nodded calmly, "Alright then, I will be going inside now."
Leon headed toward the [Divine Academy]’s grand entrance while feeling the elf teacher’s gaze burning through the back of his head like a laser, watching his every move.
The students all around the teacher also seemed confused about why Leon was getting special treatment, but they shrugged it off and resumed asking their questions to the teacher.
That teacher was level one hundred after all, and one who taught advanced magic to students, making him one of the strongest NPCs in this entire place.
Leon reached the entrance of the academy followed closely by Celeste and Emilia, but the moment they were about to step through the doors and enter the building, a loud voice stopped them in their tracks.
"Hold on right there," they heard a voice call out from the side, and Leon simply groaned internally as he immediately recognized who it was.
It was Alikar, one of the five teachers of the [Divine Academy] and the same one that had annoyed him previously when he had first arrived at this place.
He was positioned near the entrance, leaning against the wall and ignoring everybody who tried to speak to him with a bored expression on his face.
His build was massive and imposing, muscles pressing against heavy armor that looked forged for war rather than teaching, and at two and a half meters tall, it was very difficult to ignore him standing there.
He was still the most aggressive teacher among all of them though, and the hint of madness in his eyes had not disappeared one bit since the last time Leon had seen him.
’Definitely related to the [God of War],’ Leon thought to himself, ’No normal native has that kind of bloodthirst.’
"The elf girl over there is not a student, so she is not allowed around here," Alikar groaned loudly as he frowned directly at Emilia, "Get the fuck out of here right now before I make you leave myself."
He took a heavy step forward toward them, the ground shaking slightly around him from his immense weight, and Emilia instinctively backed away from the entrance with fear in her eyes.
Leon REALLY wanted to do something at that moment to put Alikar in his place, perhaps dropping the [Oblivion Meteor] directly on his face would make him think twice again about threatening his companions like that.
But instead of starting a fight he could not win, he simply stared at Alikar with a cold and unblinking gaze, not saying a word.
"Stay here outside and wait for us, Emilia," Leon smiled gently at the elf girl to reassure her, "We will be back very soon, I promise."
"A-Alright," she nodded nervously as she backed away even more from the entrance and returned to the middle of the square, finding a bench to sit on while waiting for them to come back.
The halls of the academy were enormous on the inside, filled with various rooms, training areas, and gathering spaces that stretched out in every direction.
And as soon as they entered the building, before they even had the time to wonder where to find Dominik’s office or ask anyone for directions, something unexpected happened.
Fwoosh!
There was a small explosion of mist right before the two of them, and from within that mist, Dominik’s figure emerged with a calm smile on his face.
"I heard that you were calling for me at the entrance," the chairman grinned, his eyes glowing faintly beneath his calm expression, "What do you wish for, my dear students?"
Even though he seemed calm and friendly on the surface, there was always some kind of dangerous edge around the man standing before Leon and Celeste.
As if he could snap both of their necks in an instant and no one in the building would be able to do anything about it.
In fact, even the simple fact that he had appeared in person was a shock to the other students walking through the halls.
They had only seen him a few times in their entire time at the academy, though none of them dared to approach or interrupt.
Dominik laughed gently as he adjusted the perfectly pressed uniform he was wearing and stared at the duo before him with curious eyes.
"Perhaps coming to my office would make everything simpler and more private for us to talk," he suggested politely, "Is that fine with you both?"
"Its fine," Leon nodded, not wanting to cause any trouble.
He knew that Dominik would not do anything to harm them here.
Because after all, if his true goal was to recruit servants for the [God of Magic] and [God of War], he needed these potential recruits.
Leon and Celeste were ready to follow the chairman through the halls to his office, but he shook his head and instead grabbed onto their shoulders with surprising gentleness.
Then with a simple snap of his finger, an explosion of mist erupted around Leon and Celeste, and when the mist finally disappeared from view, they were no longer in the hallway but instead sitting in the chairman’s private office.
"Wow..." Celeste could not hide her surprise at how smooth and effortless that teleportation had been, looking around at the luxurious office.
Teleportation was certainly cool, but she could not deny that Leon’s method of teleportation was much more "efficient" in her opinion, since he could also teleport between entire domains without any issues.
Regardless of the teleportation method used, Leon immediately asked for what he had come here to find out.
"Do you know where the [Time Tower] is located in this domain?" Leon asked directly, getting straight to the point.
Hearing that specific question, chairman Dominik’s expression twitched slightly, if only for a split second, before returning to its normal calm and collected self.
"I do indeed know where the [Time Tower] is," Dominik said smoothly, "In fact, I use it myself sometimes."
