Rong Xian gritted his teeth as he prepared to make a run for it. But as soon as he took a step, a hand reached out and caught his wrist. A startled yelp that had never left his mouth suddenly left his lips, and he raised his head and turned to look at who was behind him. When he saw the face of the woman who was the cause of this mess, his eyes flashed with a hint of ruthlessness.
"You! Huo Qing! Have you lost your mind?" Rong Xian roared with the little strength that was left in his body. He could not believe that the woman was daring enough to make such a decision. His eyes turned red with rage as he tried to get the grip off his wrist, but the woman wouldn’t let go of him.
Huo Qing smiled, but her smile was way too cold, which made Rong Xian shiver. As a mer who had awakened the strength of a totem warrior, he had never lowered his stance in front of a woman. To think that he was now shivering in the presence of a woman just because of the mating flower. He was so furious and helpless that Rong Xian could not help but tremble because of the rage that he was feeling at the moment.
However, Huo Qing thought that it was because the flower was taking effect that the mer had started to shiver like this. She grinned and then said to Rong Xian, "Who made me do this? I have asked you to make me your consort again and again, but you have refused without even considering my situation. Have you forgotten how much I have chased after you?"
Rong Xian could feel the heat muddying his mind. Not a single thought was behind his eyes at that moment, other than running away from this woman at the moment. He glared at Rong Xian and sneered, "Even if I am reduced to a mere scout, I will never imprint on you."
"Impressive." Huo Qing nodded as if she were touched by the courage the mer was showing in front of her. She raised her hand and clasped hold of his chin before saying to him, "This is really impressive, your highness. But there is a small flaw in this perfect plan of yours. You are under my mercy—"
She was still speaking when Rong Xian reached out and kicked her on the shin. The kick took most of his strength; thus, it was not surprising that the woman ended up being knocked down by him. Taking advantage of this, Rong Xian spun on his feet and then bolted right out of the clearing.
He did not stop even when Huo Qing roared after him. Instead, he picked up his pace and ran as fast as he could. He knew that if he stopped, then things might become even more troublesome. He could not let that woman catch him!
With the heat pulsating in his body and his strength almost depleted, Rong Xian was worried that he would end up being ruined. He knew that he could never allow the Huo family to get close to the throne. This was the reason why his mother went as far as taking in a savage as her mate rather than letting Elder Huo become her consort.
The Huo family were filled with petty thoughts, and they were all targeting the throne because they had long wanted to usurp the throne. If he were not careful, then the Rong Tribe would end up belonging to the Huo family. His mother had long warned him about this. And Rong Xian was no fool either; ever since he awakened, Huo Qing had been following him, making all sorts of smushy talk about how he would take care of him if they were to get together.
Rong Xian had never once believed her lies because he knew that there was no way that woman would treat him well.
But who would have thought that the woman would be so cruel that she would go as far as drugging him all for the sake of imprinting on him? Rong Xian felt terrified. It seemed like the Huo family could no longer be kept. He had to come up with a way to deal with them, or else they would cause even more damage to their tribe and the royal family.
With that thought alone, his expression turned fierce, and he ran out of the clearing. His mind also cleared up slightly.
Behind him, Huo Qing also got up on her feet. Her face was twisted maliciously as she could not believe that the mer had actually escaped from her grasp. Just now, she was certain that she was going to get what she wanted, but the mer ended up escaping at the right moment. She was furious but not disappointed. After all, Rong Xian was drugged by such a potent pollen. It would be a surprise if he could even run for more than three metres. She wiped the dirt off her face and sneered, "Rong Xian, you better run as far as you can because if I catch you, then I will certainly not let you go."
Huo Qing was rather confident. She knew that no matter how hard Rong Xian tried, he would never be able to run away from her.
With a smirk on her face, she ran after Rong Xian as she believed that the mer was right within her grip.

Ruan Chanchan rubbed her bloated stomach and looked at the tribe’s members, who were still eating and sighed. These people really knew how to eat. They had been eating since the beginning of the banquet, and yet they were still eating, and it did not look like they were going to stop any time soon. She knew that they were too happy and did not ruin their happiness. Instead, she slowly got to her feet and then decided to go back to her cave.
I have socialised enough for a day; I think I should go back and sleep.
