Chapter 1171 - 1210: Evening Visitor
Mabel Quinn was sweating like crazy. Looking at the situation, it seemed it wouldn’t be easy for him to get away, and although the event’s security guards at the side were helping hold back the fans, it was obviously not doing much.
So, Mabel decided to walk out on her own first, then wait for Atlas Shaw later.
But when she was going down the steps, quite a few fans waiting outside heard the noise and rushed over. Two of them, while running toward her, ran straight into Mabel. Her footing faltered and she couldn’t steady herself at all, her whole body pitching down the steps.
Atlas had actually been watching Mabel the moment she came out. Seeing her about to fall down the stairs, he wanted to rush over and catch her, but he simply couldn’t break through the crowd of fans around him.
Atlas could only shout "Move!" at the people around him, yet he could only watch with his eyes wide open as Mabel tumbled down the steps.
Mabel only felt a sharp pain shoot up from her ankle, and her elbow and the palms of her hands were all scraped. She struggled to stand up, but in her current state, it was completely impossible.
Just then, she heard Atlas shout, then saw him force his way out of the wall of fans and run toward her.
In the next second, he scooped her up in his arms and ran at full speed toward the parking lot. As he ran, he asked her, "How are you, does it hurt badly?"
"I think there’s something wrong with my ankle." She bit back the pain. What worried her even more right now were the fans around them—plenty had already raised their phones, snapping pictures of this scene.
God, if someone uploaded what they were filming to the internet, Atlas carrying her like this would definitely become a hot news item, and the fact that "Mabel Quinn" was still alive would very likely be discovered.
Mabel instinctively raised her hand to cover her face, not letting her features get exposed to those phone cameras. Atlas, seeing what she was doing, instantly understood her intention. "Sorry, I was too impulsive. I’ll do my best to handle the news, I won’t make things hard for you." As he spoke, he had already reached his car. After they got in, he drove straight toward the nearest Hospital while calling his agent, telling them to deal with any news that might break, and to have any related photos posted online deleted immediately.
Mabel of course knew Atlas had rushed over and picked her up out of good intentions. "It was me not paying attention to my surroundings, that’s why I fell." At this point, her face was scrunched up into a knot from the pain.
"If it hurts, then stop talking. Just hold on a bit longer, we’ll be at the Hospital soon," Atlas said.
Meanwhile, on the other side, Kyle Kinston was standing in front of Mabel’s Apartment Complex door, pressing the doorbell. He couldn’t say why, but after leaving the conference venue that night, he’d told the Driver to bring the car here.
Tonight wasn’t a Full Moon, and he didn’t actually have any need to see her, yet he realized he wanted to see her—especially when he was exhausted, he wanted to see her even more.
As if not seeing her left him with this inexplicable emptiness.
Inside the Apartment Complex, Auntie Wu looked through the peephole and immediately recognized the man standing at the door as that President Kyle from the earlier reports about saving Katherine Quinn.
