Chapter 1870 - 441: Unattainable Heights, Gathering Together (Part 2)
After speaking, he glanced at the serene Lady Mindai sitting nearby, with Lady Mindai gently blowing on her tea, seemingly oblivious to Agunara’s words.
Everyone in the world knows that Lady Mindai is the reason Neo has everything now; otherwise, he would merely be a small bastard barely surviving in the slums. Without Lady Mindai, who would he be to act arrogantly here?
A quick flash of coldness crossed Neo’s eyes, as he gave Agunara a half-smiling glance. Agunara was startled by that look, then straightened his back and glared back defiantly.
Yan Nanmo silently sipped his tea, appearing deaf to everything around him.
Sangque and Lorde whispered to each other, paying no attention to the argument nearby.
Among the guests, only Yan Nanmo and Lei Luosi came without family. Lei Luosi had only a daughter and no son, whereas Yan Nanmo was the only one to receive an invitation.
Agunara, seeing Neo’s silence, assumed he was afraid of him, and smiled more triumphantly. He recalled his father’s words, determination flaring in his eyes.
As long as he followed his father’s words, the Crown Prince position would certainly be his—even if it meant marrying a woman he had never met, he believed it was worth it. Women, after all, are meant to be married, and it would be best to marry a Princess, hoping she wasn’t too off-putting in appearance; he could accept that.
But...when his gaze fell upon Lorde, he grew more gloomy, wondering why Lorde was there. Was Lorde there with the same intention? Competing with Lorde made him somewhat uncertain.
Yet, no matter what, he had to succeed for the Crown Prince position.
Yun Ya was awakened at five. Previously, Yun Ya suffered from insomnia night after night, but after falling ill, her body grew increasingly weak. She unwittingly fell asleep after staying up late, only to rise feeling as if a truck had run her over.
At least five stylists busily circled around Yun Ya, first having her take a pure milk bath. Even with money, Yun Ya had never indulged that extravagantly before. How much milk must be wasted? It was fresh milk flown from New Zealand Ranch overnight, and Yun Ya soaked in the milk while two women massaged her joints and applied a layer of something akin to essential oil. Initially, it was painful and sore, as if her arm were being roasted over a fire, very uncomfortable. Gradually, a tingling sensation spread, both sour and delightful.
Yun Ya’s skin was rendered so white under the milk bath it’s nearly radiant, already very fair, and after meticulous care, akin to white jade, as perfect as artistry, glowing luminously as if carved from exquisite jade.
After bathing, maids presented a dress—a heavy and complex garment requiring two people to help Yun Ya don it, with cords winding tightly to accentuate Yun Ya’s full chest and slender waist. Yun Ya was slender enough, with a waist so thin it seemed fragile enough to break in the wind.
Yun Ya took a deep breath, almost unable to catch her breath, her chest being a late bloomer. Even now it remained flat, yet somehow those two managed to evoke curves that were...quite provocative.
The skirt unfolded in layers, like a blooming golden peony, opulent, vibrant, and unattainable.
A head full of black hair was twisted atop her head, revealing a graceful neck. A silver crown adorned with five red gemstones, each crystal-clear and brilliant, shines with peerless light, secured among her hair, exuding noble elegance.
Donning ruby earrings and a necklace matching the crown, the stylist frowned at the jade bracelet on Yun Ya’s wrist, remarking: "Princess...could you remove it first?"
The jade bracelet clearly clashed with today’s Princess attire.
Yun Ya touched the cool jade at her wrist, her eyes gentle, softly saying: "No need."
"But...."
Yun Ya’s aloof gaze swept past, the other immediately dared not say more.
The girl stood before the floor-to-ceiling window, expansive sunlight flooding in to bathe her, she suddenly appeared transparent, like thin mist, as if she might gradually evaporate in the sunlight.
Everyone present was awestruck, this moment inspired an intensely unreal feeling.
Such nobility, purity, brilliance, as intense wine, vivid artwork, unparalleled diamonds...
Beauty that captivates the soul.
The girl’s brow and eyes were like art, yet her gaze was indifferent, her face gentle with a smile, yet leaving one chilled.
Butler Ziyu knocked at the door from outside: "Princess, may I come in?"
"Come in."
Turning, leaving a swaying silhouette facing the visitor.
Butler Ziyu entered and waved inside, and the remaining people respectfully retreated.
Butler Ziyu stepped forward a few steps, bowed slightly, and respectfully said: "Princess, it’s time."
"If I take this step, what will my life be?"
The girl’s indifferent voice sounded, raising a hand to shield the sunlight, her eyes narrowed slightly.
Sunlight symbolizes light and hope, yet her world remains in darkness.
"Princess of noble birth, none shall humiliate you; your life will be brilliant," Butler Ziyu said softly.
Noble birth?
Ha...she coldly curled her lips, such nobility will only make her drift farther from this world.
From a commoner to a Princess overnight, indeed quite spectacular.
The situation has reached this point; there is no retreat, and she can only continue forward steadfastly.
"Time is up, Princess, shall we proceed?"
The girl slowly turned, her skirt trailing a long curve on the ground, Butler Ziyu’s eyes flashed with amazement, then he smiled and lowered his gaze, gesturing politely.
Yun Ya left the room, seeing a tall man in riding attire like a guardian at the door, upon her emergence, his eyes firmly on her, as if she was the only presence in his world.
Yun Ya walked past him expressionlessly, the man pursed his lips and followed.
Throughout, he only stayed half a meter behind and to Yun Ya’s right, allowing distance yet ready to protect her instantly in danger, watching the slender girl ahead, he hoped this path continued, even if eternally he would only gaze upon her from behind.
His fingers secretly tightened around the sword at his waist.
Agunara couldn’t resist pacing, mixed with impatience, "How long must we wait?"
Milaiden glanced at him: "Sit down."
"But Father...."
Milaiden subtly shook his head; Agunara’s temperament was overly impatient, not truly fitting as a Crown Prince, he felt somewhat disappointed.
"I said sit down."
Agunara secretly gritted his teeth, sitting down heavily.
Neo leisurely sipped tea, a light mischievous smile blooming, adding a tinge of roguishness to his eyes.
Someone entered then, an elegant woman general smiled respectfully: "It’s time, will the esteemed guests take their seats at the viewing platform?"
Agunara stood first, scoffing: "Such a petty place, so many rules. Where’s your Queen? I haven’t even seen a shadow since arriving; is this her hospitality? And what’s with this tea? Bitter and sour—as if to send away beggars."
