A Night of Desire

Chapter 361 - 354: This Must Be the Feeling of Happiness

Chapter 361 - 354: This Must Be the Feeling of Happiness

Even though she knew Sarah Shelby, who was sitting across from her, couldn’t hear what Seth Quinn was saying, Clara Grant still shot her a self-conscious glance. ’For a grown man, he sure knows a lot,’ she couldn’t help but think.

But, her grumbling aside, his concern still sent a warmth spreading through her heart. ’This must be what happiness feels like!’ she thought.

"I’m not having anything cold. It’s warm milk."

Even though she couldn’t hear Seth Quinn, Sarah Shelby looked up when she heard Clara’s words and gave her a knowing, meaningful smile.

Clara’s face flushed, and she lowered her gaze. "Is your meeting over?"

"Yeah." Seth Quinn paused for a moment before speaking again. "So... what did you buy?"

He had originally intended to tentatively ask her about running into his sister, but he changed the question at the last moment.

"I’m not telling you just yet," Clara said, blinking playfully. "I’ll show you when I get back."

"Alright." Perhaps influenced by her cheerful tone, the corners of Seth’s lips slowly curved into a smile.

He glanced at his watch. It was already lunchtime, so he asked, "Should I have Chase Childs pick you up? You can join me for lunch."

"No, it’s okay. Sarah and I already have plans for lunch, and we’re going to keep shopping afterward."

Even though he knew she couldn’t just abandon Sarah, Seth still felt a pang of jealousy. But he quickly chuckled. "Is shopping really that enchanting? You’d rather do that all day than spend time with your husband?"

The blush that had just faded from Clara’s cheeks instantly returned. "Of course! What woman doesn’t love shopping?"

Seth smiled again. After a brief pause, he said, "Well, you keep shopping then. We’ll... see each other tonight."

"See you tonight."

After hanging up, Clara felt a little puzzled. ’Why did Seth seem a little off just now? It felt like he was holding something back.’

After a moment, she shook her head, dismissing the idea. ’I must be overthinking things.’

...

That evening, Clara Grant had dinner out with Sarah Shelby before returning to The Millennium Grand. She had just gone upstairs and hadn’t even had a chance to put her things down when Seth Quinn arrived home right behind her.

He had originally planned to pick her up, but she’d said it was too much trouble and had Sarah drop her off instead. Since he knew she had already eaten, he had dinner out with River Sterling and the others.

He left as soon as dinner was over, ignoring River Sterling and Linden Jennings, who were teasing him behind his back for being so whipped.

Hearing the door open, Clara turned and saw it was Seth. She immediately held up a bag and said mysteriously, "Guess what I bought?"

Seth walked over and gently wrapped his arms around her. He held her for a moment before letting go, a smile on his face. "What did you buy?"

When he’d seen the transaction notifications from her card earlier, his heart had filled with happiness. It wasn’t a lot, just two purchases, but she was finally willing to spend his money.

After all these years of working so hard to make money, he finally had someone to share it with. How could he not feel happy?

When he asked, Clara immediately handed him the bag. "Go on, open it."

Seth took the bag and pulled out its contents, only to freeze.

"You bought this for me?"

"Yeah." Clara nodded, taking the garment from him. She unfolded it and held it up against his body to check the fit. He was so tall and had such a good physique that when she was buying it, she couldn’t find any men around to model it for her.

’Still, it looked like a good fit,’ she thought.

"Go on, try it on," Clara said, still sizing it up.

Seth, however, didn’t move.
